Dispenser to feed zebrafish with solid feed

The FISHGUN D1 is a semi-automatic dry feed dispenser specially developed for aquatic animal facilities and aquaculture nurseries. It complements our FISHGUN L1 which dispenses live feed. Both product have been developed by the Sorbonne University, and co-developed by Planktovie.

It is composed of :

  • an ergonomic handle for ease of use,
  • a digital screen display for better control of operations,
  • a patented vibration-based technology for delivering solid feed (powders, grains),
  • interchangeable 50 ml conical tubes for any type and size of dry feed from 75 µm to 600 µm,
  • a wireless induction charger for better security and robustness,
  • a RFID scanner to identify tanks and deliver the right amount of feed according to the number of fish.

Feeding your fish is now easier, with the FISHGUN D1 in your hands, you can :

  • enhanced accuracy and reproducibility for feeding your fish,
  • time-saving operation and reduced labor costs,
  • reduced musculoskeletal disorders to zootechnicians,
  • Adapt your feeding to the entire zebrafish life cycle.

Reviews

  1. Rémy Le Guével, head of the ImPACcell platform

For 1 year, we have been using the Fishgun to feed fish from the Zebrafish pet shop of the ImPACcell/BIOSIT platform in Rennes.
This device has greatly simplified our fish feeding operations and we have gained in speed and reproducibility.

  2. S. Tronche and A. Bois, technician engineers – IBPS Aquatic Platform – University of Sorbonne, Paris.

“After 2 months of intensive use […] we can say that [the Fishgun] does its job perfectly. The shape fits perfectly in the opening of our tanks […] and no more animalist suffers from arm pain.”

  3. A. Amiel, Phd – University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, Faculty of Medicine.

“The Fishgun has been a real asset in managing our pet shop in Nice. Among other things, it allows us to save time and to be precise in the distribution of food.”
    A. Amiel, Phd – University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, Faculty of Medicine.

  4. A. Willaert, Phd, Centrum Medische Genetica of the university of Ghent, Belgium

“The Fishgun has an ergonomic design that is shaped to fit comfortably in the hand.
In combination with the RFID tags, the Fishgun allows us to provide a specific amount of food depending on to the number of fish in a tank.
The Fishgun is easy to refill.”

  5. C. Gonzalez, Phd – Laboratory of Pathogen-Host Interactions (LPHI) – University of Montpellier.

“The Fishgun is a very useful working tool for us. It allows us to feed the fish with a precise daily amount of food for each fish in each aquarium. This allows us to feed without excess and then keep the aquariums clean and spend less time feeding and maintaining the fish and aquariums.
I recommend it for any good zebrafish researcher or pet shop technician”.
