Blue Invest Day 2020
The blue Invest Day is a day organized by the European Commission. It welcomes the 20 start-ups selected from all across Europe so they can present their project to an audience of entrepreneurs, industry bosses, influential investors and high-level representatives from government and public sector. This day aims to generate concrete business opportunities and visibility for the selected companies.
As Planktovie is working in the “blue economy” and have a viable solution whose theme belongs to one of the official pitch categories, Planktovie wanted to participate in the BlueInvest Day for the year 2020.
Here are the 5 official pitch categories:
- Clean energy from the Ocean
- Intelligent Ocean
- Food & Feed from the Ocean
- Blue Bioeconomy and Green Solutions (Category to which the Planktovie project belongs)
Planktovie was selected from 543 participating start-ups, along with 19 other companies. The participants were judged on a slideshow of ten slides presenting the company, the project, the solution, as well as the forecasts in terms of results.
Very happy being able to participate in the second step, Olivier Detournay therefore left to pitch in Brussels, in front of the public of investors. Unfortunately, among the 5 finalists chosen, Planktovie was not selected.
This day was nonetheless very instructive thanks to the many presentations which were wery interesting. The event allows participants to broaden the visibility of their business, as well as to introduce the various viable projects to the investors present.
Maybe Planktovie will try again next year.
