This offer suggests that you ask us at any time of the year for a recent certificate of analysis on 1 sample of our rotifer culture, or, 1 batch of micro-algae that we distribute for Reed Mariculture.

Planktovie generally sends samples of its rotifer culture to an independent laboratory twice a year (QM diagnostics). This is to certify that its rotifer strain is healthy from all pathogens affecting the zebrafish (Danio rerio).

The QM diagnostics laboratory uses analysis techniques such as PCR for primary analyzes to detect pathogens such as (1):
– Aeromonas hydrophila
– Flavobacterium columnare
– Mycobacterium spp.
– Pseudocapillaria tomentosa
– Pseudoloma neurophilia
– Pseudomonas aeruginosa

QM Diagnostics also uses the API system, mass spectrometry and additional biochemical tests for the identification and specification of various microorganisms such as Mycobacterium spp. if necessary.

This pathogen profile targeting zebrafish is highlighted in the scientific literature (2).
